About AfDB - African Development Bank
The African Development Bank is an international financial institution established to contribute to the economic development and social progress of African countries. The Development Impact and Results Department (SNDR) houses the Operations Academy, a Bank-wide initiative providing comprehensive learning and capacity development for operations staff.
About the role
The consultant will work within the Quality Assurance and Learning Division (SNDR.3) and collaborate with other Bank departments to support the delivery and continuous improvement of learning initiatives.
The main objective of the assignment is to coordinate online group learning initiatives and develop innovative micro-learning products, particularly podcasts and visual learning materials, to enhance knowledge sharing and learning effectiveness across the Bank.
Your responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage online group learning initiatives and communities.
- Provide support to learners and facilitate engagement in learning activities.
- Undertake learning analytics and prepare reports and visual aids based on learning data.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop micro-learning products, particularly podcasts.
- Design and develop visual learning products and learning support materials.
- Create blended learning pathways through the integration of curated content and newly developed learning resources.
- Support communication, outreach, and knowledge-sharing activities of the Division.
- Perform any other duties and assignments requested by the Manager, SNDR.3.
The consultant will be expected to deliver the following outputs:
- Coordinate online group learning initiatives, including learner support activities.
- Undertake learning analytics reports and create visual learning materials.
- Edit podcasts and other micro-learning products developed in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts.
- Manage blended learning pathways incorporating curated content and newly developed resources.
- Develop communication and outreach products supporting the visibility of SNDR.3 learning initiatives.
- Any additional assignments and outputs requested by the Manager, SNDR.3.
Key requirements
- At least a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Development Studies, Adult Learning, Education, Knowledge Management, or a related discipline.
- Background in adult learning is required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in learning and knowledge sharing.
- Proven experience in coordinating learning initiatives and knowledge management activities.
- Demonstrated experience in designing micro-learning products, particularly podcasts and visual learning materials.
- Knowledge of SharePoint and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Experience using authoring tools for podcasts and digital learning products.
- Strong digital communication and media production skills.
- Good knowledge of data collection, data analysis, and reporting tools.
- Strong IT skills for virtual collaboration and online learning environments.
- Strong working knowledge of English and French.
- Excellent drafting, editing, and proofreading skills.
- French proofreading and editing skills for communication products and e-learning courses would be a strong asset.
- Experience in coordinating online learning communities.
- Experience developing visual learning products and communication materials.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and stakeholder engagement skills.
