Operating in more than 40 countries and 29 U.S. cities, the IRC responds to humanitarian crises and helps people survive, recover, and gain control of their future by restoring health, safety, education, economic wellbeing, and power to communities devastated by conflict and disaster.
About the role
The CRRD Data Analyst will join the METAL Unit (Monitoring, Evaluation, Technology, Accountability, and Learning) to bring together data across core business systems and support data-driven insights for Crisis Response, Recovery and Development (CRRD) staff. This role will respond to inquiries from CRRD leadership about utilising complex internal datasets to offer management insights into strategic goal achievement and resource allocation, primarily through building live dashboards and conducting ad-hoc analyses.
Your responsibilities
- Create and maintain dashboards, visualisations, and reports to track programme and strategy performance, pulling from grants, finance, and programme data across IRC's core business systems (Integra, OTIS, Salesforce, and PID)
- Analyse and interpret large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that inform global programme strategies
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including programmes, fundraising, marketing, and finance to ensure data is well represented to meet stakeholder needs
- Identify opportunities to enhance data collection and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with global goals
- Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging analytics tools, and bring innovative ideas for improving the team's capabilities
- Collaborate with fellow Analytics colleagues to ensure best practices in coding, statistics, and general analysis
Key requirements
- 3+ years working in the field of data analytics
- 2+ years' experience in international humanitarian aid or development
- Proven experience with enterprise datasets and technical skills across the data stack: cloud lakehouse platforms (Databricks preferred), Python and SQL, dbt or equivalent transformation tooling, pipeline orchestration, and BI/visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
- More than two years of professional experience with Power BI
- Demonstrable experience planning and executing complex analytics projects across multiple stakeholders
- Strong data visualisation and communication skills with ability to tell a story with numbers in various formats
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
- Highly collaborative and pro-active colleague with talent for delivering results with cross-functional groups
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standard of work product
- Right to work in United States of America, United Kingdom, or Kenya
Additional information
